Biography

The Sebastian String Quartet was founded 1982 as The Quartet of The Musical Youth of Zagreb. Since 1990 it works as The Sebastian String Quartet. Members of the quartet were improved on mastercourses for chamber music in Grožnjan (Croatia), Rogaška Slatina (Slovenia), Pecs (Hungary) and Saumure (France). Since 1988 quartet is a member of The International Foundation Yehudi Menuhin in Paris. The Sebastian String Quartet gave many concerts in Croatia and also in Slovenia, France, North Korea, Italy, Austria and Hungary. Repertoire of the quartet includes works from classical to contemporary music with emphasis on Croatian compositions.

Anđelko Krpan – violin 

Anđelko Krpan is Senior lecturer on Zagreb Conservatory. He was concertmaster of Zagreb Soloist (1997-2002) and Croatian National Opera Orchestra (2002-2004). He got his B.A. degree on Zagreb Conservatory (Professor Kristijan Petrović) and his B.A. and M.A. degrees on Hochschule fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna (Professor Dora Schwarzberg).

Teodora Sucai Matei – violina 

Teodora Sucala Matei has started her music education in Osijek in the class of prof. Eva Hühn and continued her studies in Zagreb in the class of prof. Davor Philips. She made her master diplom on the Zagreb Music Academy in the class of prof. Leonid Sorokow. During her studies she won 15 first prizes on regional and state competitions in the different cathegories. As a soloist she has played with Zagreb Philharmonic, Croatian Chamber Orchestra and Zagreb Chamber Orchestra. She is member of Zagreb Philharmonic and Sebastian String Quartet.

Nebojša Floreani – viola 

A member of The Symphony Orchestra of The Croatian Radio and Television, he got his B.A. degree on Zagreb Conservatory (Professor Stefano Passaggio), visiting teacher on a music school in Zagreb.

Zlatko Rucner – violincello 

A member of The Zagreb Soloists, lecturer on Zagreb Conservatory, he got his B.A. degree on Zagreb Conservatory (Professor Valter Dešpalj).
